This policy explains how Celeste Careers collects and uses personal information when you send us your CV, tell us about a role you're hiring for, or contact us. We keep it short and in plain English.

What we collect
If you're looking for a role:
- Your name, mobile number, email address and where you're based
- The role you're looking for and anything else you tell us, such as your notice period or salary expectations
- Your CV and the information in it, such as your work history, qualifications and skills
- Notes from our conversations with you and feedback from employers you're introduced to
If you're hiring:
- Your name, company, phone number and email address
- Details of the roles you're hiring for
We collect this from the forms on our website, by email and phone and from professional sources you've made public, such as job boards and LinkedIn.
Please don't include sensitive information in your CV, such as health details, religion or ethnicity. We don't need it to find you a role.
How we use it and why we're allowed to
| What we do | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Keep your CV and details and contact you about suitable roles | Your consent, which you give when you submit your CV |
| Introduce you to an employer, but only once you've agreed to that specific role | Your consent and taking steps at your request before a possible contract of employment |
| Respond to an employer's enquiry and recruit for their roles | Our legitimate interest in running our business and taking steps towards a contract with the employer |
| Keep records of placements and invoices | Our legal obligations, including tax and the rules that apply to employment agencies |
We never sell your information and we never send your CV to an employer without asking you first.
Who we share it with
- Employers, only for roles you've agreed to be put forward for
- Companies that help us run the business, such as our website host, form provider and email provider. They can only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Professional advisers and authorities, such as our accountants, or the police or a regulator if the law requires it
Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure it is protected by approved safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- CVs and candidate details: for two years after we were last in touch with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Employer enquiries: for two years after we were last in touch, unless we start working together.
- Placement and invoice records: for six years, because the law requires it.
